scottpe
I have had 4 sticks of VS512MB400 in my system for a couple years now with zero problems. Suddenly, while in the middle of working with some video files, the system crashed hard, and would crash every time I tried to restart it. It even crashed trying to load setup on the Vista DVD (which was an obvious clue that the problem was in fact hardware). I pulled out 2 sticks of memory and the problems stopped. I then tested all 4 sticks individually with Memtest86. Three worked fine, and the fourth crashed the program with an interrupt error. I'd say it's a safe bet that I have one bad memory module. I have since been running on two of the known good modules with no problems whatsoever. Please advise as to how I should proceed. Thank you.
