GTX 295 and HX620

There are some speculations that the GTX 295 requires a 22A rail minimum to run properly. The GTX 295 power rating is 289 watts TDP.

My thought is that the 22A is bull and that the HX620 would supply the power to the GTX 295 fine.

Support, any ideas?

And besides, even with a (decent) multi-rail PSU, it's not pulling all its power off one rail, as the PCIe slot is on one rail (usually 12V1), one rail is dedicated to one PCIe connector and the next connector to a third rail (and so on if it has more than two). So the load is spread over three different rails. (since no card today requires more than two external power connectors). This may not apply to all PSUs though.

The graphics card manufacturer means that the combined 12V of all the rails has to be at least (or exceed) 22A. Which is commonplace for any good high end PSU nowadays. Even if you had, say a four rail 750W PSU with 18A max on each rail, you'd be perfectly fine.
