thefiresky5150
My only question is that the PSU analysis only took into consideration my processor, the graphics card and the number of hardrives in my system. cant there be more variables that may cause a psu of 550w to not work? or do you think it will be alright? The analysis said that also a 450w corsair would work, but im having a tough time believing that :sigh!:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 7, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 7, 2009 I would suspect that our VX450 would work fine with the system as well, although the 550 would probably be a better option if you want to leave some room for future expansion, and a little extra headroom wouldn't hurt. If I had to give a rough estimate of your systems power usage it would be something like: 680i - 100w 9800 GTX+ - 140w 2GB Ram - 25w HDD - 20w Q6700 - 120w 2 case fans - 10-15w This would put you at about 400 watts, but these values would be at 100% load and you probably will not be maxing out every component at the same time during regular use. I would suspect that the system will only pull 200-300w during regular use.
