TW3X4G1333C9DHX + Asus P5QC

Happy newyear, i have a problem :)


My DDr3 corsair sims ar not running at the speed of 1333mhz (as the SPD promised) but on 1066 on my ASUS P5QC. i've tryed some programs and they all report SPD=1066(corsair trick?)


i tryed to set some stuff manually in the bios and it will run for a while, but for some reason it freeze (most of the time when im playing CODWAW). Bios up to date (1613) but in this version i cant lower my voltage to 1.60 (what my modules need). Min voltage he gives is 1.80v, and thats the min voltage for DDr2.

i can set the DRAM volage with AI SUITE. but when i set it to 1.6v it will be in the bios set to 1.82v and that is not recommended!!

Please use CPU-Z and post a screenshot of the MEMORY and SPD tab. As per the link you posted, the SPD should be set to 1333, so it's no "corsair trick". However, there's usually more than one timing set within the SPD.


Also, 1.80 is the min for DDR2, however this is a DDR3 system, so the BIOS should definitely support lower voltages. If it doesn't go that low, either the BIOS is messed up, or you're looking at the wrong setting. Both of these scenarios would mean that you should talk to Asus.

and extract the ISO image. Burn the ISO image to an CD-ROM disk.

Download CPU-z from

Run Memtest for two full passes. When assured of stable DRAM, then enter Windows and Run CPU-z and post screenshots of CPU-z's CPU, Memory and SPD tabs.


If you can not set the voltage (IN BIOS) for the DRAM to 1.60, then you need to contact your motherboard manufacturer.
