TW3X4G1333C9DHX + Asus P5QC

Happy newyear, i have a problem :)

My DDr3 corsair sims ar not running at the speed of 1333mhz (as the SPD promised) but on 1066 on my ASUS P5QC. i've tryed some programs and they all report SPD=1066(corsair trick?)

i tryed to set some stuff manually in the bios and it will run for a while, but for some reason it freeze (most of the time when im playing CODWAW). Bios up to date (1613) but in this version i cant lower my voltage to 1.60 (what my modules need). Min voltage he gives is 1.80v, and thats the min voltage for DDr2.

i can set the DRAM volage with AI SUITE. but when i set it to 1.6v it will be in the bios set to 1.82v and that is not recommended!!

This is the memory i use:

Same memory is in de QVL, but then 1024mb

CM3X1024-1333C9DHX

anyone help?

Please use CPU-Z and post a screenshot of the MEMORY and SPD tab. As per the link you posted, the SPD should be set to 1333, so it's no "corsair trick". However, there's usually more than one timing set within the SPD.

Also, 1.80 is the min for DDR2, however this is a DDR3 system, so the BIOS should definitely support lower voltages. If it doesn't go that low, either the BIOS is messed up, or you're looking at the wrong setting. Both of these scenarios would mean that you should talk to Asus.

Download memtest from--->

and extract the ISO image. Burn the ISO image to an CD-ROM disk.

Download CPU-z from
.

Enter your BIOS, Load Setup Defaults, Save Setup Defaults and set to these values:

AI Overclock Tweaker

Configure System Performance Settings

Ai Overclock Tuner = Manual
CPU Ratio Setting = 9.5
FSB Strap to Northbridge = 333
FSB Frequency = 333
DRAM Frequency = DDR2-1333
DRAM Timing Control = Manual
CAS# Latency = 9
RAS# to CAS# Delay = 9
RAS# PRE Time = 9
RAS# ACT Time = 24
Row Refresh Cycle Time (tRFC) = 60
All Else to Auto
DRAM Static Read Control = Auto
DRAM Dynamic Write Control = Auto
DRAM Read Training = Auto
DRAM Write Training = Auto
Mem. OC Charger = Auto
Ai Clock Twister = Auto
AI Transaction Booster = Auto

DRAM CLK Skew on Channel A1 = Auto
DRAM CLK Skew on Channel A2 = Auto
DRAM CLK Skew on Channel B1 = Auto
DRAM CLK Skew on Channel B2 = Auto

CPU Voltage = Auto
CPU PLL Voltage = Auto
FSB Termination Voltage = Auto
DRAM Voltage = 1.65v
NB Voltage = 1.35v
SB Voltage = Auto
PCI-E SATA Voltage = Auto

Load Line Calibration = Auto
CPU Spread Spectrum = Auto
PCIE Spread Spectrum = Auto
CPU Clock Skew = Auto
NB Clock Skew = Auto
CPU Margin Enhancement = Optimized
Memory Remap - Enabled

Legacy USB = Disabled (For Memtest, Enabled After Memtest)

Run Memtest for two full passes. When assured of stable DRAM, then enter Windows and Run CPU-z and post screenshots of CPU-z's CPU, Memory and SPD tabs.

If you can not set the voltage (IN BIOS) for the DRAM to 1.60, then you need to contact your motherboard manufacturer.
