Memory for the Asus P6T Deluxe

Hi Guys,

Sorry but im intending to hijack this thread also as it is exactly the kind of information i am looking for.

I'm in the process of upgrading my machine, I'm a little bit limited cash wise to around £800, however i am only upgrading mobo, RAM, proc and gcard. Keeping my case HDD's and optical drives as well as my PSU (i think, more on this later)

i would be moving to the following

Board: P6T Deluxe

Processor: i7 920 2.66GHz 8mb

RAM: ??

Gcard: Nvidia 260 (216)

I have been looking at various memory configs for the board and processor. Idealy i would like to go for 16000 memory in a triple channel 6 gb config. However with the over clocking in mind ( im not brilliant at it ) i was worried to go for memory that high. after seeing all these warnings etc.

now i would be going for this one i think its about £200 retail here.

6GB Corsair Dominator 1600MHz DDR3 Triple Channel Memory Kit

From what i can accertain here in this post it is entirely possible to get the chips to run quite happily in a i7 system.

What changes would i need to make in the AI tweaker for this meory to run ?

Would the voltage cause issues with the processor?

Is an 800 Watt antec PSU enough for this system ?

Do you think this would run stable or should i look for slightly lower clock memory ? Perhaps the 1333?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give

Post split to its own thread.

If you mean OCing, just tweaking the BCLK and the multipliers would be enough.

Would the voltage cause issues with the processor?
Nope, it's memory specifically made for this platform, so the voltage is within spec.

Probably.
