About a month ago I purchased an CORSAIR 16GB FLASH VOYAGER GT (PER.554041) usb stick for 49Euro from http://www.eshop.gr which are Premium Retailers (http://www.corsair.com/wheretobuy/results.aspx?result=true&region_id=12685&country_id=12705). Link of the product : http://www.e-shop.gr/show_per.phtml?id=PER.554041

I am using it in Vista and I was quite happy of the performance but I expected more, and thought that was a Vista problem. I took it to a friends machine with Windows XP and the performance was the same. Then reading your forum I bumped on a "test" procedure using hdbench 3.40 beta6. In XP the Read speed was about 8.5 MB/s. Then tested it in my Vista 32bit and the speed was the same as in XP. Tried the format g: /fs:fat32 /u command and re-tested it. The same result. I have the screenshot here :

Tried "Optimized for Performance" and Optimized for Quick Removal Options" but the speed was the same...

What can I do ?

Thank you for your support.

I will try to RMA it through your Premium Retailer: http://www.eshop.gr today. If they do not accept this then I will try to do the RMA directly to you.

This is the speed that I should get ?

The 16GB GT products are based on Samsung’s fastest MLC chips, and use the fastest controller we could get (currently from SMI). The speeds are 30-31 MB/s reads, and 16-17 MB/s writes. This is tested on HDBench with file sizes of 100MB on two platforms: A DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D and an Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe, both tested under Windows XP SP2. The 16GB GT drives utilize dual channel technology as well as interleaving to incorporate the best performance possible from a 16GB drive. We are currently having problems sourcing the flash used in the 16GB GT. As a result, there is limited availability, but we will not substitute any other flash in this device. This is what the “GT” on this drive guarantees.

In XP SP2 I get this :
