6400C4 reads PC5300 When Booting ???

Am I missing something here, I thought Memory Labeled 6400 was 6400 Memory & should read as such when a Computer Boots up ???

I have at least 2 sets of XMS2 6400 Memory that only reads PC5300 When Booting, that plus the fact neither set will work in a ASUS P5N-E SLI Motherboard but will work in other Motherboards while some other brand of 6400 Memory will work in the ASUS P5N-E SLI Board.

The ASUS P5N-E SLI Motherboard will boot to the point of almost going into the Desktop & then give a error of "trying to write to read only memory"

i had this motherboard in order for the ram to work correctly you need bios version 0608 or greater + you have to manually adjust the timings in bios to what ever version you have and set voltage to 2.1v for dram

fsb for ram = 800mhz

timings

4

4

4

12

command rate = 2 if cas 4

or

5

18

command rate 2 if cas5

all other timings i left on auto but this board will only take 2gb at a time you can not have all 4 slots occupied due to north bridge limitations
