ev_miami
I have the following system: Motherboard: P4C800 Deluxe Processor: Pentium 2.8c GHz 800MHz I bought Value Select Memory, VS512MB400C3 (Two of Them). It supposed to run at 400MHz, but when I check the memory it is only running at 320MHz. I was wondering what the timing settings are supposed to be. Also if anybody has any suggestion on how to fix the settings, it would be greatly appreciated. P.S. I plan on upgrading to XMS Memory Modules, but for now I am satisfy with this memory. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 8, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 8, 2004 Please check in the bios for the memory or DRAM Frequency and set it to "400"
iddobrin
RAM GUY, Would you be able please to provide the voltage, speed and frequency for the following configuration? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 10, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 10, 2004 This MB will only support DDR333 with more than 2 banks of memory. Or in other words, 512 meg modules are double banked, (2 512-Meg modules = 4 banks) I would set the timings to By SPD and set the Dim Voltage to 2.75 Volts and then run www.memtest86.com on the system to be sure it's stable. If you should get errors please test them one at a time and set the timings manually to Cass 2.5-3-3-7!
iddobrin
Ram Guy, Thanks for your answer. The motherboard is supposed to support DDR400 as well, or at least, this is what I was told by the vendor. Since my last post I have played some more with BIOS settings and it looks like I got it stable now with the following settings: DDR400, 2.7V 2.5-3-3-8. I tried 2.5-3-3-7 but it was still unstable.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 10, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 10, 2004 From the Specification's for P4R800-VM! 4 x 184-pin DIMM Sockets support max. 4GB PC3200/2700/PC2100/1600 non-ECC DDR SDRAM memory Dual Channel Memory Architecture Note: Supports one single-sided PC3200 (DDR400) DIMM per channel only
luther138
So I have the same MB as the guy posting before me, I am currently trying the timings and voltages suggested 2.5-3-3-8 at 2.7v I am will tell you guys how stable this ends up making it when I run it for awhile. anyway if these sticks of ram are not supported because they are double sided then does Corsair make a 512MB stick that is only one sided? If not could you direct me to someone who does at a comparable price? I would just get a new motherboard but I do actually like this one despite its Dual-Channel DDR400 issues, the board was cheap and even had enough juice in the onboard video to let me play Half-Life 2 all the way through. Consequently if corsair does sell one sided 512 DDR400 sticks then I guess these double sided ones are for sale. Thanks for your time. Robb RAM 2 x VS512MB400 Motherboard: ASUS P4R800-V Deluxe CPU: Model: Intel Pentium 4 2.4C w/ Hyper Threading Operating Frequency: 2.4GHz FSB: 800MHz Socket: Socket
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 2, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 2, 2005 I am sorry but at this time all 512 Meg modules are double sided. You will need to run the memory at DDR333 with this MB!
