Stick of RAM causes BIOS Checksum failures

I have a computer which bluescreened.

After rebooting the machine, it would get to the Windows boot screen and then bluescreen again.

I removed both sticks of RAM, and then tested each one individually. With one of the sticks, the computer would work fine. With the second stick, the computer won't even POST successfully ... it actually caused the computer to claim that the BIOS checksum failed.

I updated the BIOS on the mobo to the latest firmware rev, and then performed the tests again, with the same results.

Any thoughts?
