jlf7156
Hi Ram Guy, I have just completed assembling my new computer and my memory is Corsair 1Gx2 TWIN3X2048-1800C7DF R but only reads as DDR3 1333. This is confirmed by Memtest. My processor is Intel E8500, MB is Gygabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 775 X48 RT I have not changed anything in the bios. Everything is default. How can I speed up my memory to 1800 or is this a defective part? Thanks.
DerekT
You must perform an overclock of the CPU FSB from 333Mhz - 450Mhz to reach the 1600Mhz of the DRAM. Drop your multiplier from 9.5 to 7. It is set to 9.5 X 333 default (9.5 X 333 ~= 3.16GHz. Set to 7 X 450 ~= 3.15Ghz and the DRAM to 1800Mhz.Download Memtest86+ V2.01 from--->Here Download CPU-z from Here .Enter your BIOS. On the main BIOS screen press Ctrl + F1. You will see the screen flicker. Next select the MB Intelligent Tweaker option. On that screen you will see many additional settings that were not there before. MIB Intelligent Tweaker (M.I.T.)
