benganb
I have built a new rig based on GA-MA78GM-S2H, AMD X2 5000+, 2,6 Ghz and TWIN2X 6400 DDR2, 4096MB CL5. The system is not stable. I have put the voltage to 1.9 does not help. With one stick the system boot and work for 10 minutes. With the other stick or with both, the system won´t start. The stick which sometimes work I have tried MS Vista memory test and the stick pass. Should I send back my twin sticks? Should I have another model of memory? /Bengan
DerekT
Normally when I build a Phenom machine I setup with the lower end DRAM because the boards and CPU's are often troublesome. A Phenomenal problem. Some work, some do not and there is no good reasoning why. I am a systems integrator and work with many models of hardware. The easiest route I have found is buying lower end vanilla DRAM which always seems to work in these machines. Now on to troubleshooting. Have you made other changes in your BIOS? How about setting the DRAM in slot 2 and 4 rather than 1 and 3?
benganb
I have only increased the dimm voltage 0.1v to 1.9. And yes I have tried to move around the sticks in different slots, nothing helps! /Be
