Dichotomy
Although many speed questions are floating around the forum, I wanted to post my own about a recently purchased Survivor 32GB drive (just 3 days ago, actually). While I've never been disappointed with my 8GB Voyager GT, the write speed for the 32GB Survivor seems erratic. While watching files copy in Total Commander, I've seen the speed drop to 60k/sec on small files. Last night, I tried saving a 15MB Visio file to the drive, which took approximately 30 minutes. I've attached an image from HDBench. Note that this was AFTER I reformatted the drive on the command prompt with Format S: /FS:FAT32 /U; S stands for Survivor. ;) It also doesn't matter which of the 3 USB 2.0 ports I use on the Dell XPS laptop. Using latest Intel Chipset INF drivers too. I've always trusted Corsair for RAM and Flash drives, so I'm hoping you can help me out with this issue. Thanks, Jason
