mskydale
Thanx for the quick reply and info... I appreciate it, but the thing is I want to upgrade my RAM from 4 x 2GB 667MHz Corsair to 4 x 2GB of either Twin2x4096-9136C5DF (my first choice) or Twin2x4096-8500C5DF. And I already installed Vista Enterprise 64bit w/ 8GB RAM and already updated it in windows update... :-)
007bont
NP, as all those modules come in a package of 4GB max, there is a change you need to run them at lower speeds. (please wait for Ramguys answer first) additional info can be found in this thread the only kit that is available in a 8gb configuration is: Q2X8G6400C4DHX.pdf (on tested boards only) so please wait a bit for RG's response ;):
OldGeezer
The 8500C5 works just fine with my EP45-DS3R. The 9136C5 is a bit faster - a speed of 1142, I believe. Either should work. Be sure you have flashed to the F10 BIOS. With either one, you will no doubt need to set the memory speed to DDR800 or DDR667 with fully populated memory slots, so you may as well just go to the 8500C5 memory. mskydale
Thanx for the info OldGeezer, i just here w/ one of the suppliers here in philippines that 9136C5DF is obselete compare to 8500C5DF? So I am little bit doubt on that thing issue because I they have no stocks of 9136C5DF and they push me to buy 8500C5DF instead... any recommendation? OldGeezer
The 9136C5 is not obsolete - it just seems it is hard to find. The rated speed of 1142 is a bit non-standard, so you would need to overclock your system to reach it. The 8500C5 is available, which is why your supplier is trying to sell you that model. Edit: I just played with the Latch and Speed Multiplier on my DS3R. I was able to set the memory speed to 1111 without overclocking. Personally, it just isn't worth it to me to tweak those last few cycles. The way my system is set is plenty fast for my applications. Now if you are interested in wringing that last little bit of performance... and money is not a big deal... go with the 9136C5. If you have the patience for it to become available. mskydale
Thanx again for the info, lastly if I buy 2 sets of TWIN2X4096-8500C3DF (that is 8GB total RAM), is there any conflicts even if my OS is 64bit?
007bont
no, you will need to instal sp1 or the patch in my sig before you use more then 2gb or ram.
mskydale
Currently, My OS is Vista Enterprise 64bit and SP1 installed w/ 8GB RAM 667MHz speed, so far, i didn't encounter any problems but i don't know the outcome if I upgraded it to 8GB 1066MHz although according to Corsair, GA-EP35-DS3R is compatible w/ 8500C5DF... I just want to make sure of it because the price is no joke... :-)
007bont
aah yes, didnt read that part  when you insert the new modules you can use memtest to see if there are any problems, before booting to vista. just be prepared to lower the ram speed, as mentioned before! If you are already running 8 gigs at 667, you will only be stepping up to 8 gigs at 800.
mskydale
So you mean to say that there is a high probability that it will not work w/ all 4 slots running @1066MHz in speed? How about this... 2 sets of TWIN2x4096-8500C3DF (8GB total) = ? If no, any good suggestion? What is best for you on the following? a) 1 set of TWIN2X4096-8500C3DF 1066MHz(4GB total) b) 2 set of Corsair Generic RAM 667MHz (8GB total)
