Hi RAM Guy,

just bought 4g TWIN3X2048-1800C7DF G and installed them on the S2E with a q6600 cpu @ 3,6 ghz FSB 1600, the problem is as soon as i change the timing to anything lower than 9 - 11 - 11- 29 2T the whole system gets really unstable what should i do? I have read that people use them @ 1600 MHZ with 6-6-6-15, i would like to have the same:-) !

I run them in sync mode 1:2

@ 2.0V

pls help!!!

Please make sure you have the latest BIOS for the board, load setup defaults in the BIOS and then set the following settings manually:

Memory Voltage: 2.0v

NB Core Voltage: 1.55v

SLI Ready: Disabled

FSB Memory Clock Mode: Unlinked

FSB QDR MHz: Default/Auto

MEM DDR MHz: 1800MHz

TCL: 7

TRCD: 7

TRP: 7

TRAS: 20

Command Per Clock: 2T

You will want to make sure that you have the memory installed in the outer dual channel slots to give you the best chances of running at 1800MHz. If you have problems, then I would test each module individually to see if you can isolate a failing memory module. Let us know your results!

Hi RamGuy,

I did as you said, and first it didnt work at all, the system just did not start. Then i tried to I put one by one in a white Dimm slot and checked all 4 of them individualy with memtest as you suggested. And there it was! With 1800MHZ the system would only start with three of them, so one was definetly defective. The others it stardted with i checked one by one and found a second one producing errors after about 30 min of stresstesting.

That means two of four modules are not working properly according to the specs???!!! I thought they are pretested???!!!

The rest of my system is running now perfectly with the two good modules at 1800 MHZ FSB, i tested it for about 16 hours with prime.

What should I do now?

NP we will be happy to replace the failing set, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace them.

And with 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR1066 or DDR133 and set the memory Voltage to 1.7-1.90 Volts and set the NB/MCH/SPP Voltage to +.2 Volts as well and test the system with http://www.memtest.org. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
