opivyskaguy
Hey all, I am posting because I have become increasingly confused over the last few days over cables for my HX620. I have just picked up two Diamond Radeon HD 4870 video cards that I want to run in Crossfire. Though I have just realized I need four 6-pin PCI-E cables and I only have two ports. I only have two molex ports left on my PSU, but I don't have any molex to PCI-E cables/adapters. I am not sure what the recommended setup is, or what the correct cables to use are in my case.. but I have read a lot of the posts and it seems like with extra cables I should be able to run with my setup currently, though I am not entirely sure what I need and am more than a little confused now.. I had previously emailed RAM GUY asking for 2 modular PCI-E cables with 2x connectors. I am not sure if this is what I need or not, so I figured I should ask for some help. What cables/adapters do I need for this PSU to work with my new video cards? Thanks ahead for any help!

opivyskaguy
Hey RAM GUY, Thanks for the reply, though it hasn't helped me with my confusion. What cables would you suggest I request?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 6, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 6, 2008 Hey RAM GUY, Thanks for the reply, though it hasn't helped me with my confusion. What cables would you suggest I request? Tell them that you need 2 separate PCIE cables that each have 2x 6+2-pin connectors per cable and you shouldn't need to use any molex to PCIE adaptors. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 6, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 6, 2008 Thanks for sorting out my confusion, I really appreciate it! At least now I know what it is I'm looking for sure! Thank you very much. No problem at all, the 6+2-pin connectors can each be used as both 6 or 8 pin PCIE connectors, so you should be all set.
