Activity LED on 16GB Voyager

I've just purchased and received a Corsair 16GB Flash Voyager. The activity led is visible only when I first plug in the drive or during r/w activity. I have several flash drives and the led's are always on. What's disconcerting about the led not being lit is that it opens up the potential for unplugging the drive without going thru the safe to remove routine. When I do the safe to unplug, the actvity led does not light up either. Again leading to a "did I or didn't I" dilemma. I don't think this behavior or lack of is normal. Is there a fix or do I RMA it back to Newegg or Corsair? Probably Corsair since it's a rebate purchase.

Please try to format the drive from a command prompt with this syntax:

Format (X:) /FS:FAT32 /U (X=the drive letter assigned to the Flash Voyager)

If you still have problems we can get it or them replaced, please use the RMA request found in TSXpress or follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!

Thank you Ram Guy. As suggested, the Flash Voyager was reformatted with the forwarded syntax from the command prompt. Unfortunately, the issue with the LED was not fixed. I will use the RMA request to return the drive for replacement. There is only one drive to return.

I recently received the replacement 16GB Voyager for the one I returned with the LED issue. To my dismay, this replacement has the same LED problem. The LED only lights up when there is read/write activity going on with the drive. This leads me to ask the question, should the LED be lit to show that the drive is plugged in and in a readiness state? Also, when the safe to eject is invoked, all of my other flash drive LED's flash activity, this drive's LED did nothing. I am running Windows XP Prof (Media Center) SP3. Any help or advice you can offer?
