Asus M2V-MX SE and TWIN2X2048-6400C4D - locking up

Ever sence i did the ram uprade my computer locks up. Asus and corsair both say this ram is compatable. Is there something i'm missing?


any help will keep this machine on the desk and not flying out the window. lol

That motherboard has no options for DRAM voltage. Your DRAM needs voltage of 2.1 to run with 4-4-4-12 and very likely needs 1.9 - 2.0v for even 5-5-5-12 so I don't think that DRAM will work with that board. I would use vanilla DRAM with that board. Corsair Value Select.


From the ASUS website QVL (Qualified Vendor List / DRAM)




Shows only 533 and 667 based Vanilla DRAM for this board.


Corsair's Memory Configurator is in error it would seem.

ok i got the ram to work on this board. during the 3 hours i tried to get the comp to work with it. i tried goofing around in the bios. :D:


here is what i tried.

Advanced -> Chipset -> Mem. Config


changed mem clock mode to "limited"

and the mem clock value to "667Mhz"


seems to work. but then again it also might just be a temp fix.
