PowerPie5000
Hi, i recently purchased 4gb (2x2gb) of xms2 ddr2 800mhz ram and installed it into my dell optiplex 330 system (intel g31/g33 chipset). It is showing a fsb:dram ratio of 5:6 is this any good? my previous memory was generic samsung stuff running at 667mhz and had a ratio of 3:4 all i want to know is this change normal or should it be better?? Currently my xms2 memory is running fine at 1.8v 5-5-5-18 and at 800mhz dual channel symmetric mode, but wanted to know if the ratio is ok? My cpu is an Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 running @ 3.0ghz with a 1333fsb. I know people say this ram should run at higher voltages but unfortunatly dell do not have this option in the bios so im stuck with 1.8v dimms, but i guess im safe with this ram becouse on the labels it says "1.80v ver 4.7" and its been running fine for hours with no problems. Is the 5:6 ratio fine for my cpu/memory? just to keep my mind at peace, thanks
Yellowbeard
Yes, your MOBO has set the RAM speed properly based on your CPU speed and the SPD (information for RAM settings programmed into RAM chip).
