Poygon
Dear RamGuy, I have a query regarding my recent purchase of 2 sets of TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX for a P5Q Deluxe Motherboard. The issue I am having is that the machine will POST only when 4GB or 6Gb is installed at any one time, and I wish the full 8GB to be utlized for a VMWare test workstation. I have been reading on the forum regrading the strain the memory controller is under & the fixes that have been mentioned, such as lowering the clock speed to 667Mhz and upping the voltage on the NB, and re-arranging DIMM configuration to iron out that factor, to which I have completed, but still the system refuses to boot. Any help regrding this issue would be appreciated  CPU Voltage - 1.325 (Stock) RAM Voltage: 2.10 (Stock) NB Voltage 1.40 RAM Timing : 4-4-4-12 (Stock) Upgraded to newest BIOS 1306 from 0704. I will attempt to revert back to original bios and test to see if it will POST @ 8GB P5Q Deluxe BIOS 1306 (current) 1. Enhance the memory compatibility. 2. Update ExpressGate to V1.3.3.1 P5Q Deluxe BIOS V0704 (shipped with board) 1. Patch for certain memory unstable issue. 2. Patch for certain Quad-core CPU unstable issue. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 30, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 30, 2008 With 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667 and set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts and set the NB/MCH/SPP Voltage to +.2 Volts as well and test the system with http://www.memtest.org. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
