ghost_p780
Hello. I need help..... Firstly, I have four 2gig sticks and I wanted to run memtest, but since it doesn't support 64 bit, I did window's "memory diagnostic" and all the sticks passed, twice, with no errors. Except one stick, which had something like 120 errors in two passes. My question being, does this warrant an RMA? Since I couldn't run memtest? Secondly, the modules are 1066. When i built my system, the os kept crashing, so by trial and error I figured that I could bump the memory down in BIOS to 800 and this *apparently* fixed the problem. But before I screw my system up, I am in desperate need for some advice. Thanks...
Wired
Run memtest from a boot device, not from within windows.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 29, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 29, 2008 Yes I would suggest http://www.memtest.org and with 4 modules DDR667 or DDR800 would be suggested.
