Bitey
Im getting graphical errors and freezes when playing certain games *cough*WOW*cough* and ive tried a number of things to get it resolved. I am running twin CM3X1024-1333C9 chips at 9-9-9-24, 1.7v at 1333mhz Help please. im losing my mind
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 22, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 22, 2008 Memory Leaks are not usually the memory it self they normally would be caused by the software or a BIOS issue with the MB you are using. I would suggest checking with the game maker or Game makers forum and see what they say.
Bitey
Ive tried that and had no luck so far. I don't want to just RMA anything as im not sure of the root of the problem, so im canvasing all the forums and trying to get a result.. So far the game forum point to the graphics card, the graphics card forum point to the ram and the ram forum point back to the game and motherboard.. Do you have any suggestions? Thundordan
Try to get Everest or a similar program which monitors your hardware and see if it matches what the BIOS says. You should also try Alt+Tab-ing in the middle of the game and checking Everest or anything else to see your system's temperature and memory usage. If all specs are fine it could be a motherboard issue. I for one sometimes get video card restarts due to overheating while playing, but that's Asus' fault.. Oh and, Ram guy, please look into my thread aswell, when you have the time :D ( http://www.asktheramguy.com/v3/showthread.php?p=367954&posted=1#post367954 )
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 22, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 22, 2008 I would see if ASUS can check and OR REPLACE THE Video card for you.
Garvin
Bitey, Sounds like the default GPU fan speed is to low (think it's 30% with the XFX's). I've read many posts of 9800GTX owners having to up the fan speed to 50 to 60% while gaming or they end up with the issues you describe. I run mine at 60%, under that and it'll glitch during gaming. You might want to give XFX a buzz to get the utility to you'll need (probably will be the NVidia System Tools utility). Their new website layout makes it impossible for me to give you a direct link. http://www.xfxforce.com/en-us/Help/Support.aspx
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 24, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 24, 2008 Thanks for posting that but the user who posted had an ASUS Video card not XFX.
