Hi,

don't think you have answered correctly. The 4870x2 needs a 6pin and 8pin connector. If the 8pin connector lead requires 2 x 6pin PCIE inputs, then these can only be obtained from PCIE1 and PCIE2 from the PSU. This therefore leaves another 6 pin connector from the PSU required to the 6 pin on the 4870 x 2.

Question is where does it come from ? Do you use a molex to 6 pin and feed it off one of the Jx connectors ?

ie PSU > PCIE1 output >

-------------+--------------->2x6 pin input > 8 Pin on GPU Card

PSU > PCIE2 output >

you then need to connect another 6 pin lead to the GPU card. Where does this come from ?

There's no need for extra cables. Since it comes with two PCI-E 6+2 cables, one is used for the 6 pin connection, and another for the 8 pin connection.

Never heard of an 8 pin conversion cable that requires 2 (6+2) cables going to it. That would be redundant.

The HX620W may do now but I've had mine for 2 years and its only got 2 x 6 pin PCIE.

Just been out to shops to buy another Corsair PSU the 650W one which has the 8 pin PCIE. So problem solved.

The HX-620 was introduced before the 8 pin PCI-e standard was so, the original cables do not come with 8 pin connectors. We have new cables with 6 pin and 8 pin connectors and you can get them from customer service.
