cloak33
I absentmindedly formatted my 16GB Flash Voyager and now it is only showing as being 4GB with a unallocated 12GB partition that I cannot format, delete, etc. How do I get the drive back to it's original state? i.e. FAT32 with 16GB available in XP? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 17, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 17, 2008 How did you format the drive when it only showed 4Gb? And did you try and select the size in Windows format?
cloak33
I was actually preparing the drive to boot from. After I formatted it came up as being 4GB with 12GB being unallocated. Disk Management wouldn't allow me to modify the unallocated 12GB portion at all. Ultimately I ended up using Gparted to fix it.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 18, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 18, 2008 If the problem is solved then no worries, if it is not I would suggest using a Win9X Boot floppy and set the Flash drive as a HDD and disconnect your fixed HDD's then run FDISK to fix th e partition and then format then drive. and if you dont have one go to http://www.bootdisk.com
