hertzz
I recently purchased new parts to put together a system. Everything works perfectly except for the fact that I am unable to boot up my system if I have RAM modules in slots 3/4 on my GA-EP45-DS3R. (There is a continuous reboot loop and no POST beep at all). I am able to run RAM modules separately and together in slots 1/2, but I cannot run any RAM in slots 3/4 whether it be separately or both DIMMs being occupied. This causes a very annoying problem because it means I cannot run my memories in dual channel. Help would be great!! Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 12, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 12, 2008 I would suggest talking to the MB maker about getting the MB replaced and or tested.
hertzz
I got the motherboard tested and was shown DIMM's 3/4 working perfectly. Could it be stuff to do with voltages etc..? I can perfectly start the system with modules in DIMM 1&2 but no POST in 3&4. Do I need to edit the FSB or any other settings etc..? Thanks
hertzz
Can I ask what settings I need to properly operate my RAM. I had the motherboard tested, and according to the people that checked it, all I needed to do was make sure the settings were right for voltages etc...and the RAM would work properly. They also said to update to the latest BIOS version which I had already done. I have the CM2X1024-8500C5D (1066mhZ/5-5-5-15/2.10V ver4.1). I have already tried some other RAM, and that wont allow the system to POST in DIMM 3 or 4 either  Thanks!
hertzz
Never mind. The problem was that my motherboard's 3rd and 4th DIMM slots were being shorted by the case and motherboard touching. Thanks
