hex6
I have just gotten a new PC that i have been trying to get up and running stable for almost 2 months now, and nothing seems to be helping so I am ready to try something new now. i think the problem might be the ram and the motherbord so i am going to buy some new ram insted and throw the old ones out into the bin. And here is where i ask you guys to give me a hand, what ram can run flawless with this bord? i don't really care what the price is, i have been using 4,5k $ on a PC i wanna throw out the window each time it freez up. this is what my pc is running right now as it seems to be the most stable: BIOS Settings Extreme Tweaker CPU Level Up = Auto Memory Level Up = Auto AI Overclock Tuner = Manual CPU Multiplier = 8x FSB - Memory Clock Mode = Linked FSB - Memory Ratio = Sync Mode FSB (QDR) MHz = 1333 MEM (DDR) MHz = 1333 LDT Frequency = 4x PCIE Bus Slot 1 & 2 MHz = 100 PCIE Bus Slot 3 MHz = 100 SPP<->MCP Ref Clock, MHz = 200.5MHz SLI-Ready Memory = Disabled Memory Timing Setting P1 = Auto P2 = Auto tCL ( CAS Latency ) = 9 tRCD = 9 tRP = 9 tRAS = 24 Command Per Clock (CMD) = 2T tRRD = 9 tRC = 41 tWR = 12 tWTR = 27 tFAW = 41 tRD = 12 tRTP = 9 tRFC = auto tREF = Auto Over Voltage CPU Voltage = 1.25V Loadline Calibration = Enabled CPU PLL Voltage = 1.6V CPU VTT Voltage = 1.2V Memory Voltage = 1.76V NB Core Voltage = 1.46V SB Core Voltage = 1.55V CPU GTL REF0 Ratio = Auto CPU GTL REF1 Ratio = Auto CPU GTL REF2 Ratio = Auto CPU GTL REF3 Ratio = Auto NB GTL REF Ratio = Auto DDR3 CHA1 Ref Volt = Auto DDR3 CHB1 Ref Volt = Auto DDR3 CHA2 Ref Volt = Auto DDR3 CHB2 Ref Volt = Auto CPU Configuration CPU Internal Thermal Control = Disabled Limit CPUID MaxVal = Disabled Enhanced C1 (C1E) = Disabled Execute Disable Bit = Disabled Virtualization Technology = Disabled Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Tech. = Disabled CPU Core 2 = Enabled CPU Core 3 ( Ignore this setting, unless you have a Quad-Core CPU ) = Enabled CPU Core 4 ( Ignore this setting, unless you have a Quad-Core CPU ) = Enabled Spread Spectrum Control CPU Spread Spectrum = Disabled PCIE Spread Spectrum = Disabled MCP PCIE Spread Spectrum = Disabled SATA Spread Spectrum = Disabled LDT Spread Spectrum = Disabled The problems i have is: PC freeze when i am playing warcraft 3, and age of conan(bouth after 30-90min's of play time) it have frozen a few times in windows while looking at the internet/streaming movies from youtube. I am tryed running memtest and it freeze after 10-90min of running the test(it never gives any erros it just freez), I have tryed Disableding "usb legacy support" while running the test no difference there. please help. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 8, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 8, 2008 Please try the modules one at a time and see if you can isolate this to one of the modules, but normally the problem you have described would suggest some other type of issue, thermal or driver related. hex6
I have tryed running the ram 1 by 1, and i can't find any problems with any of the blocks only when i have bouth in the bord at the same time. and the temperatur of CPU RAM NB SB are all good, and the driver dos not really matter when i am running the memtest in dos. btw if i just run bios on default with bouth pair of rams it is impossible to start the PC becouse the bios set the V of the ram to 1,5 so it get stuck on mem test. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 9, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 9, 2008 Try the other two slots and I would set the memory Voltage to 1.7 Volts.
hex6
ok I will try to run a test of 1 block, on each of the 4 slots on 1,7V, then i will try with 2 blocks. btw i was running with ram in A2 and B2 it seemed most stable. i have been trying this 1 time before but i just updatet the bios so i give it a try agen with all on auto and mem on 1,7V. btw i see the new datasheets of the TW3X4G1333C9DHX says 1,6V but on the side of my ram stiks it says 1,7V Test settings: Memory Timing Section P1 = Auto P2 = Auto tCL = 9 tRCD = 9 tRP = 9 tRAS = 24 Command Per Clock = 2T tRRD = Auto tRC = Auto tWR = Auto tWTR = Auto tFAW = Auto tRD = Auto tRTP = Auto tRFC = Auto tREF = Auto Over Voltage CPU Voltage = Auto Loadline Calibration = Disabled CPU PLL Voltage = Auto CPU VTT Voltage = Auto Memory Voltage + 1.7v NB Core Voltage = Auto SB Core Voltage = Auto Test of ram block 1: Slot A2 no erros but freez after 11m and 31sek Slot A1 no erros but freez after 1h29m
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 10, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 10, 2008 The modules should be in slots A1 and B1 or A2 and B2 but if the system is locking up when you have just one modules in slot A2 that might suggest a problem with the slot or MB. hex6
The modules should be in slots A1 and B1 or A2 and B2 but if the system is locking up when you have just one modules in slot A2 that might suggest a problem with the slot or MB. it is not only on A2 but it freez on A1 as well, and last time with I testet bios 903 it froze on all 4 slots each with a singel ram block and it froz each time each time random sometimes a hour+ sometimes 10 min. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 10, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 10, 2008 What is your CPU Temp running at?
hex6
OCCT TEST: idle temp 48-50 (with core test) OCCT shows abit more like 2-3 on each core. Test start: after running for 4 min OCCT CPU test it says 65 62 62 62 and coretemp says 60 57 58 58 (still running) looks like it is stable as this temp after 13min the temp is the same. ok that was 30 min of CPU test and temp stable on 65 62 63 62 and on coretemp 61 57 58 58. no freez or any thing. After running the OCCT CPU Test, i runned the OCCT Ram test and after 1min11sek the PC froz. ... hard to say if it is the ram or if it is the motherbord. :/

hex6
btw I forgot to say that after I reset the BIOS it froze a few times on post, but after a few resets i got into bios and was able to set the volt and the rest.
