Corsair 620hx and ip35 pro problem

Hi, I recently got a replacement powersupply for my computer, the 620hx, and installed it. After installation I was not able to get my motherboard to POST at all. It seems like no power is being received by the motherboard at all. I double checked the wiring, and am positive they are correct. I also reinstalled my old power supply to make sure it was still working, and it was. So I thought it was a DOA, but then the next day, my brother's 620hx arrived, and I tried the same thing with that, but still nothing. I think it may be some sort of issue now?

thanks

Specs:

Abit ip35-pro (Non xe)

OCZ reaper HTC 4gb ddr2

Radeon 4870

Core quad q9550

seagate 320gb

samsung dvd-rw

With the HX620 installed, try resetting the CMOS and then power up. You may also want to make sure you have the latest BIOS for the board. When you turn on the system does the system power up (nothing on the screen) and then shut itself off, or does it not even turn on at all?

Sorry for being vague. I do have the latest bios, flashed it when I upgraded to quad core. I tried reseting cmos, and still nothing. What I'm saying is that my motherboard doesn't even light up when i flip the power switch. With my old PSU, after just powering the PSU, I would get a light next to my 24-pin cable on the board indicating there's power, and my motherboard would display '00'. however, with both of my 620hxs, I don't get any of this.

Thanks

The only thing that makes me think that there could be some other issue is the fact that you have identical problems with both HX620's. There are probably 2 likely possibilities to explain what is going on. One is that the PSU is tripping the "Over Current Protection" or "Over Voltage Protection" due to an out of spec signal from the motherboard, which if I remember correctly these boards had some similar problems when they were originally released. The second possibility is that the same component has failed in the each PSU, which is unlikely.

Before having the PSU replaced, if possible, you may want to test it in a known working system. If it gives you the same issues, we would definitely want to have it replaced, however if there are no problems in another system, you may want to RMA the board.

Thanks. I went ahead and applied for a RMA number. ABIT is supposedly going out of business by the end of the year, so I hope they're still going to be doing RMAs...

From what I hear, they are going to honor RMAs for up to 3 years from when they close their doors, so you shouldn't have a problem.
