quietdragon
I'm looking for 2 x 1GB sticks of dual channel memory for an ABIT NF7-S v2.0. The memory configurator shows an ABIT NF7-S and an NF7-S2 which are different boards, but similarly named. The memory configurator recommends TWINX2048-3200C2PT for the NF7-S and NF7-S2. Would this recommendation be suitable for the NF7-S v2.0 also? The configurator shows VS2GBKIT400C3, but the text says: ** IMPORTANT NOTE ** For maximum system stability, Corsair recommends the use of XMS memory ONLY with nForce 2 motherboards. Value Select memory is NOT RECOMMENDED. Why is VS2GBKIT400C3 listed if it is not recommended? Will VS2GBKIT400C3 run dual channel?

But the Value Select memory is designed strictly to run at the reference 2.6V voltage for DDR1 memory (but nForce2 motherboards prefer running memory at 2.7 to 2.8V - my NF7-S V2 motherboard runs memory at over 2.7V by default, and cannot be lowered). No wonder why the motherboard makers recommend high-voltage, extremely-low-latency memory on their NF2-based motherboards.
