ECS K7S5A PRO and Value Select Memory

I'm looking for 2 x 512 MB of DDR memory for an ECS K7S5A PRO motherboard.

Using the memory configurator, I am told that http://corsair.com/configurator/product_results.aspx?id=3567 is the corresponding RAM. The configurator selects for the K7S5A which is close to the K7S5A PRO. The details for the selected RAM are:

Memory Type DDR-400 (PC-3200C3)

Size 2GB Kit (2 x 1GB)

Latency 3-3-3-8-2T

Voltage 2.6v

Format 184-pin DIMM

Heat Spreader None

I know this is bogus because the same page says:

The ECS K7S5A is a Socket A motherboard for Athlon XPs, MPs, and Durons. It has 2 DDR slots for DDR memory, and 2 regular SDRAM slots for non-DDR memory. However, you may only use DDR or non-DDR, there is no mixing.

Is there a Corsair Value Select product that is suitable?

I'm not clear what is bogus? Those sticks are workable in that motherboard. They are not 2 X 512 but 2 X 1GB though. On the same page you will also find:

VS1GBKIT400 which is a 2 X 512MB kit at 2.5-3-3-8-2T

or

VS512MB400 which is a single 400Mhz DDR stick at 2.5-3-3-8-2T

or

VS512MB400C3 which is a single 400Mhz DDR stick at 3-3-3-8-2T

With that board, you have a 266Mhz CPU so I would personally go with:

VS512MB266 at 2.5-3-3-3-2T which is a single stick and is also on that same page. You would need two of them.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was concerned that I'd be buying an extra 512 MB per stick that would not be addressable.

Yikes. I didn't scroll to the end of the page. :sigh!:

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
