Tracker62400
HI , i hope that you can help me. I have a new Corsair TX650 , gigabyte 965p-dq6(bios upgraded to f12) ,1 Sapphire radeon HD4870 . On cold Start , i have many times " PluG youR vga card or Power" and PC don't start ( bip in infinite loop).Sometimes PC start and no problem after that (in windows) Problem seems to be only on Cold Start. I did a clear CMos , try with a minimum of components. Always the same error message. I try with my Old PSU ( Thermaltake purepower 420w) and system boots all the times. i try with another Video card , system boots all the times ( but this card need only 1 PCie 6x connector) Do you know about a compatibility problem between TX650 and HD4870 ? or i had a problem only with mine ?= PS sorry for my english , i'm french
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 29, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 29, 2008 A problem like this may be caused by having a motherboard/BIOS/video card/PSU combination where one component is looking for power, milliseconds before it is supposed to receive it, the PSU detects this and shuts down. Basically something is out of spec on a cold boot. Technically you might be able to resolve the issue by replacing any one of these components, or it could just be a compatibility issue when using this specific combination of hardware. By cold start do you mean that you are turning off the PSU manually on the switch on the back of the PSU, or just when you initially press the power button on the front of the system, after the system has been shut off for a while? Tracker62400
just when i initially press the power button on the front of the system, after the system has been shut off for a while, but problem is the same if i 've turning off the PSU manually on the switch on the back it. For the moment, i had a RMA for video card.we'll see with a new card ( yesterday finally the card doesn't work on another PC) the thing disturbing is that in Bios , the 3.3v is only at 2.05v ?? Do you think it is possible or it is only a captor problem ? like i said , i have no problem with another video card . I ' m not very good in power supply understanding and i don't konw what component 3.3v handles
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 29, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 29, 2008 BIOS and software voltage readings can be off by quite a bit. 2.0v is definitely too low for the 3.3 volt rail, but its hard to say if that is an accurate reading. I would test the new video card, and if you have the same problems then we can try replacing the PSU for you. Just use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it. Be sure to check the box that says “I've already spoken to Technical Support and/or RAM Guy.”
