djnitto
So I got a Corsair 4GB Survivor and 2GB Padlock awhile ago. The first time I put either or onto my computer (with XP 32-bit loaded), my Anti-Virus(both Avast and Avira AntiVir) detected autorun.inf as a suspected worm. No matter what I select, my Anti-Virus will always pop up 2 minutes later saying that the file is suspicious again. I tried reformatting it as NTFS with no luck. Then I tried loading Vista 64-Bit (installed on the same computer) and both AntiVir and Kaspersky do not detect anything on these drives. Is this a virus or is this a false alarm? Attached is the message I always get.corsair.bmp
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 28, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 28, 2008 Just format the drive that will take care of that! Then scan your system to be sure it is not there any more.
djnitto
I just did that using quick format, but I'm still getting the autorun.inf pop-up for both the Survivor and Padlock on XP.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 28, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 28, 2008 Do a full format from a command Prompt with this syntax: Format (X:) /FS:FAT32 /U (X=the drive letter assigned to the Flash Voyager)
