MasonStorm
Greetings RAM Guy, I'm hoping to equip my Asus Striker II Extreme with 8GB of your RAM, linked and sync'd at FSB1600. From everything I've read around the web, I understand that I will need to buy DDR3-1800 memory for it to run with stability at 1600MHz when in an 8GB, 4x2GB configuration. Would you suggest this TW3X4G1800C8DF memory, in 2 kits for a total of 8GB, to achieve this goal? Or is it unlikely to succeed even with increased NB voltages? If not recommended, would your TW3X4G2000C9DF DDR3-2000 kit do the trick? I realize such expensive set-ups probably haven't even been tested in 8GB configurations, but based on your expertise, what do you recommend? (I realize I could RMA the memory if it fails, but with the going 15-20% restocking fees, I'd end up being out anywhere from $150-$300 if these kits don't work, at their present prices.) Thanks in advance! Just in case my system's specs don't automatically appear in my posting: Tagan BZ 1300W; QX9770 @ 4GHz; 2xEVGA 9800GX2 SSCs in quad-SLI; Creative X-Fi Elite Pro; Areca 1231ML PCI_X8 RAID0 w/4xWD VelociRaptors.
