winstonb
Bought these in 2006 to run WinXP. Upgraded to Vista earlier this year so bought another pair that have higher version number 3.x. Vista will no longer boot with the old and new memory installed, or just the old memory. I get blue screen of death with archaic memory error message. With just new rev memory installed everything works fine.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted August 25, 2008 Corsair Employee Share Posted August 25, 2008 With 2GB of memory installed please make sure you have Vista Service pack 1 installed with all of the updates from Microsoft. If you still have the same issues then I would suggest that you manually drop the memory frequency to DDR333 and see anything changes. If you still have the same problems then I would suggest testing the modules one at a time in the slot closest to the CPU with http://www.memtest.org, to see if you can isolate a failing module. Let us know your results! Also, make sure that you have the memory voltage set manually to 2.75 volts with these modules.
winstonb
Ram Guy, I downloaded memtest and tried to do the test, but the computer will not even post with the bad memory installed. The newer memory works fine. Please RMA. Thx, Winston
