Sturmk
Hello everyone! First of all, please forgive me, my english might not be perfect, as i am french ;) I just bought the new Ati 4870 x2 (Gigabyte) and the Cooler master real power 700M PSU. Everything is running fine at vista start and i have no problems at all playing some games. But when i try to run some GPU intensive games(ie GRID, Hellgate:London, UTIII...) i can hear a kind of "hiss" coming from the PSU. I thought 700w would be enough for my system, but i assume that this sound means it is not powerful enough or is faulty. I then decided to order a new Corsair Hx1000 PSU from my online retailer, and asked for a refund of the cooler master. I have been told the corsair HX620 was a very good PSU and would have been enough for my system, but as i had problems with a 700w PSU, i decided to buy a more powerful one. Could the Hx620 really fit my system? Yemi
Excuse for my answer in french, but this guy is french as me and it's more easy for him and me :)
Wired
Keep in mind that this is the English part of the forum, so 99% have no idea what you just said. For the English speakers, here's the translation from http://translate.google.com: Hello to you, I am also French and HX620 should quite fill your needs, both in terms of power (in view of your components) and quality point of view, they are very good power supplies: ) When your noise problem that is certainly food Cool Master in it and not even its power must be the cause. Sturmk
I just received my HX1000 today:) Works like a charm, but i still have this "hiss", which seems to come from the video card itself. After asking other 4870x2 owners, it seems it may occur when the card has to render heavy scenes. Anyway the annoying sound was greatly reduced since i installed the Hx1000. With such a psu, i think i'm set for the future :) Well done Corsair and thank you for making such great products (a lil expensive as i paid 200€ for it, but if it proves to be reliable, i will be happy).
