dimkrom
hello. I just bought today the corsair voyager gt 16 gb flash drive and the problem is that it is very slow. The only reason that i bought it is bacause i want the fast write speeds as advertised around 20-30mb/s the speed that my product has is around 8mb/s with hdBench program. What should i do ? With this speeds is useless for me, i already have ocz atv 32gb stick which is faster and i get the corsair gt bacause i believe that it would be faster. Is my product faulty ? What should i do ? i just bought it. I already use it and in another computer and with different formats,(ntfs,fat32). Please give me some help, i waiting for it, and when i get it i get very dissapointed.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 25, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 25, 2008 Please try to format the drive from a command prompt with this syntax: Format (X:) /FS:FAT32 /U (X=the drive letter assigned to the Flash Voyager) then try the HDBENCH v3.40 Beta 6 to test the performance. And please do a full format of the drive before you run the test and set it to 100 MB file size. The write should be about 14 to 17 MBps.
dimkrom
Please try to format the drive from a command prompt with this syntax: Format (X:) /FS:FAT32 /U (X=the drive letter assigned to the Flash Voyager) then try the HDBENCH v3.40 Beta 6 to test the performance. Ok i did this type of format but the speed is the same 8mb/s write (tested with hdbench with 100mb file size) On the format string what the /u does? i type format /? to see what it does but it is not there. Are you sure that /u works in vista command prompt? What should i do now ? the flash is new only 3 days i have it.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 26, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 26, 2008 The "U" is Unconditional format and will check sectors that are marked bad. And if you do not have another system to test with then let's get it replaced, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it.
