warthan58
I'm trying to use two CMX1024-3200 sticks (from TWINX2048-3200) with the Tyan K8W. No matter what I do, I get a post code of D4 "Chipset Initialization/auto memory detection about to begin. Check SIMM for mismatch.", and the board will not post normally (no beeps, no video, etc.). This code makes me wonder if there's a compatiblity issue with the K8W. Any info tech guys? My memory sticker is: CMX1024-3200 XMS3200v1.1 0408048 XMS3200 1024MB 400MHz 3448

Which is what you need to run in an Opteron system. You want the TwinX series with an id that has the letters RE in them. For example, Twinx1024RE-3200.
