Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 20, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 20, 2008 With the CPU you have the fastest you can run the memory would be DDR1333, your CPU would have to be over clocked to 1600 FSB to run the memory at DDR1600 and when you over clock the CPU you will need to lower the Multiplier as well. Can you tell me the exact settings you had set for the CPU and memory that work and what you tried that did not work?
Shimano
before i got 4GB DDR3, i got a exact same kit 2GB DDR3, FSB was 400, procesor was oc-ed at 3.6ghz, and memory fsb 1600 with 9-9-9-24 worked excelent ! in the mean time i sold my 2GB kit and bough a exact same kit but 2x2Gb, 4GB total they are installed on the orange memory sokets, now with the same settings that worket before with 2GB kit the sistem just freezes after 10-15 minutes, i've set all on automatic, the fsb was broth back down to 333, procesor at 3ghz original value, and memory at 1066 with 7-7-7-20 ! all its on auto, this way it works great but i want the memory to run at 1600, i have a ZeroTherm cooler on my cpu 32degres in idle 44 in full load so i don't think it a cpu problem with the OC as long as it worket ok before i changed the ram, also memory modules has optional Corsair cooler installed over them, the sistem is verry airfloaded no heat problems all 100% alluminium chase, please help me with this i no longer know what to do :(

Shimano
they work perfectly at 1066, keep my computer without restart for 1-2 weeks even more and no crash/freez anything it runs smoodly, i heard alot of ppl have this same problem with all memory modules not only corsair on this MB, alot of ppl couldn't use memory at 1600 but most of them replaced bios and worked, i've tryed all and nothing :(
