ugotd8
Brand new build, all parts showed up from the egg today. ASUS Rampage Formula, Q9550, Dominator 2x2GB DDR2-8500, Sapphire HD3870. Right now, no peripherals or storage are attached. One stick will not POST. Gets to 260MB and hangs post. Occasionally, both sticks will post. One stick will never POST in DIMM Slot A1. The other stick will always post in DIMM Slot A1. I've updated the ASUS BIOS from 0308 to 0407. After BIOS update, loaded setup defaults. Both sticks POST, DDR2-800, hardware monitor in BIOS says RAM voltage at 1.921V. I make some unrelated changes in BIOS (set SATA to RAID), and then RAM wont POST. I then went into BIOS (with good stick in A1) and set RAM to DDR2-1066, RAM Voltage to 2.1, 5-5-5-15, FSB to 333x8.5 (stock for Q9550) and disabled USB Legacy. Saved changes and single stick POSTs OK. Power off, added suspected bad stick, fails POST (at exactly 260MB). I cannot even get to the point where I could possibly run memtest since the machine hangs at POST most of the time. This is very frustrating. I have an identical setup coming in tomorrow from the egg, and I don't have any confidence in this RAM. What can be done to quickly solve this issue? Thank you. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 22, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 22, 2008 I would give it at least 24 hours. It should not take more than 24-48 business hours to get a reply excluding weekends and Holidays. If not please call them at 888-222-4346 Ext "0" or 510-657-8747 Ext "0". However I would suggest checking your spam filter or Junk folder in your email client to be sure.
