I'm sorry to say this, but your motherboard's chipset does not support four double-sided DIMMs. The G31 chipset's MCH is limited to four banks of memory maximum (this means that two double-sided modules already make up four banks of memory). As such, the only way that you could use four 1GB DIMMs would be if all four of those DIMMs were single-sided. However, all of Corsair's 1GB memory modules are double-sided at the present time.

In other words, you have greatly exceeded the memory controller's maximum number of supported banks of RAM. Thus, if you want 4GB of memory on that G31-based motherboard, you have no choice but to go with one 4GB dual-channel kit such as the TWIN2X4096-6400C5 kit. As it stands, you actually have two 2GB dual-channel kits (each kit contains two modules).

And your GigaByte motherboard is one of the very few G31-based motherboards with four DIMM slots. Almost all of the other G31-based motherboards have only two DIMM slots.
