SPITwSPOTS
I recently purchased 4 sticks of CM2X2048-8500C5D and placed them in a MSI K9A2-CF with a Phenom 9850 and a 700mw PS. I have tried everything I can think of and I cannot get this mem to post in this MB. I tried swapping CPU/PS/and Video to no avail. System works well with different mem and the CM2X2048-8500C5D works in a different MB. So I know both components are good and according to everything I've read they should be compatible. I tried clearing the CMOS as well as manually specifying the speed. I am however a little confused by the 5-5-5-15 2T timing. I understand the basic concepts but the BIOS has more than 5 settings in the memory timing page and I cannot find an explanation in exact terms for what settings the 5-5-5-15-2T correlate to in the BIOS. Like I said the BIOS has more to set than just the five settings all of them with a 3 letter acronym. And it seems that it should at least POST with the auto setting from the SPD. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 12, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 12, 2008 You can get more details on the settings from the link in my signature and did you test the system with only two modules installed with http://www.memtest.org at the tested settings and with 4 modules you may be limited to DDR667 or DDR800. What were the exact settings you had set for both CPU and memory?
