Since I want to upgrade to 4 GB in XP 32 - yes its ok for me that only 3 GB are useable I have no clue which one I should take.

I need a stable, non-occing system for games.

This is my current 2GB Corsair TwinX XMS2 CL5.

Besides - what is the right voltage for them?

I'm interessted in these modules:

TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX

TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX

TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF, Dominator Serie

Could You be so kind and give my some advice about the most compatible and fast choice?

This is for P5Q Deluxe if you have another version you will need to check its compatibility with our memory configurator.

All of these will be compatible and suggested

TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX Best Value

TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX Best Value to performance

TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF, Dominator Serie Best performance.

So the choice is yours based on your budget and performance expectations!

Dear ramguy,

thank You for Your advice.

I looked that up already, but the "Asus P5Q" is not in the Corsair memory configurator.

This is what I found in the Asus QVL for P5Q:

DDR2 800 1024MB CORSAIR Heat-Sink Package 4 N/A DS CM2X1024-6400C4

DDR2 667 512MB CORSAIR 64M8CFEG N/A N/A SS VS512MB667D2 V V V

DDR2 667 1024MB CORSAIR 64M8CFEG N/A N/A DS VS1GB667D2 V V V

So apparently these modules are not tested with the "P5Q"?

The ASUS QVL list is comprised of modules they have tested on that specific MB and I cannot comment about what they have or have not tested, you would need to ask them. And there are 4 P5Q Variants listed on our configurator. What is the exact model you are looking please provide a link to it.

But they are all basically the same MB MB and spec unless you are looking at the DDR3 Versions.

As I wrote it's the basic Asus P5Q which is very common:

http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=709&l4=0&model=2164&modelmenu=1

And no, asus does not support this ram for this board I'v read somewhere, which probably doesn't mean nothing.

I think about taking the 6400 CL5. Would You agree this is the most hassle-free choice?

Quite a few people had some issues with the CL4 and the dominators.

Will the 6400 CL4 as the 8500 CL5 benefit at all in a non-occing system?

Perhaps "TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX Best Value" would be the simple way to a solution.
