Rocken
I bought Corsair XMS3 TW3X2G2133C9DF 2GB DDR3 2X1GB DDR3-2133 CL 9-9-9-24 Memory Kit W/ Fan and can't get the memory to run faster than 2050MHz. I tried it on Asus Striker Extreme, (http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=653&l4=0&model=2114&modelmenu=1) and tried it on XFX nForce 790i, (http://www.xfxforce.com/en-us/products/motherboards/7series/790.aspx). I used Intel Core2 Duo E6,300 Intel Core2 Duo E7,200 Intel Core2 Duo E8,400 and tried memory slots 1&3, and 2&4. what are the next steps to get the memory to run at 2133MHz (rated speed), or should I go for replacements which will run at 2133MHz. I'm using the rated voltage and timings.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 11, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 11, 2008 That is probably just the MB topping out, did you try the modules one at a time?
Rocken
yes I tried one at a time - neither reaches the rated speed on these motherboards. is there another MB I should try. does this corsair pn not run at rated speed on these mbs? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 22, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 22, 2008 We had to use the EVGA MB to test the modules when we developed the modules but the latest version of BIOS with that MB and an E8000 series CPU with the modules in slots A2 and B2 should run fine, you can try that or maybe just wait for the MB BIOS to mature a bit more would be my suggestion.
