Eroc
Actually we have tested this MB a long time ago, and it was only rated at 333Mhz. However, you might go to www.amdmb.com, as they have an Epox section and I think there is some reworks that you can do to improve the voltage to the MB.
Hmm...The Epox 8RDA+ is rated 333 but the 8RDA3+ is supposed to be rated 400...I will check that link. Thanks.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 27, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 27, 2004 With AMD you would need to run the memory and CPU in sync. If you try to run the CPU at 333 MHz and the memory at DDR400 for example it will cause a bottleneck in the chipset!
Eroc
Here is my status now... Epox says they are trying to contact you (Corsair) for Memory like mine (PC3500C2) to test and, as they told me, have not been able to get any response. Are you guys completely out of the PC3500C2 with the BH-5s? If so I am at a loss...looks like new mobo time :/
AusTerro
So the Asus MB works and the Epox does not? that might be because Epox are crappy & asus is not. I would say Epox did not impliment the DC function on their MB correclty where Asus did. I had an Epox once. never again. it was a p4 845 board. memory controller had issues. knew my dealer well so got an Abit IT7 as a replacement. never looked at Epox after that. Eroc
That is what I am beginning to think. The memory controller does not seem to handle DC DDR 200Mhz at CAS 2 no matter the memory. The main memory I used was the BH-5 chips on PC3500C2. I think I will be getting a DFI or an Abit to replace.
AusTerro
DFI have been getting a good reputation. I would go Abit or Asus or nothin at all. The Abit NF7 i think is the fastest Abit Athlon MB at the moment. It has a VERY good reputation within the OCing scene
Eroc
I have my memory running at (actually above spec) now!! The solution: Motherboard. I got an Abit NF7-S and now running at 220*10 with my Athlon 1700+ Rock solid so far (it has been in the past just the freaking epox board held it back) So no, it was not the memory or the proc (I was sure of this anyway as I knew the memory was capable and I knew the proc was too.) I will update my sig. soon with new specs once I am done fiddling with fsb and multi. What fsb has anyone achieved with this kind of memory; PC3500C2? Just curious. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 21, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 21, 2004 Eroc I am sorry, but XMS3500C2 has not been produced since last year! Winbond stopped all Rev B production last September and the IC's dried up about November of last year!

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 21, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 21, 2004 You can search and see if maybe a friend has one you can get or maybe a reseller might have old stock, Doubtfull but you can check! Or if you can find another use for this module you can use Twinx1024-3200LL and you should not have any problems!

They weren't working in my Epox 8RDA3+ board in Dual channel mode but they are fine in my Abit NF7-S. Quick question...are these modules single-sided or double-sided? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 27, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 27, 2004 The fact they will run in another MB would suggest that it's not the modules at fault! Can you give us more details on why it will not work?
