asus compatibility problem

i recently purchased a MB NFORCE2 A7N8X-UAY 400Mhz ASUS RT ....andthe cmx512r-3200c2 cor rt.......the problem i am having its not recognizing the ram....i tried all three slots...i then placed a 256 stick of ddram in there and it worked....is it possible this stick of 512 is bad or too much for this motherboard..any solutions will be greatly appreciated......

Welcome to the forums, lizardhomicide! That motherboard doesn't support registered memory. The CMX512[b][color=red]R[/color][/b]-3200C2 is a registered module. Basically, your motherboard won't run with registered or ECC memory and you need to return/replace that module. The exact model number you'd be looking for is CMX512-3200C2 without the [b][color=red]R[/color][/b]. With that motherboard, you might also look at the CMX512-3200[b]LL[/b] which has slightly faster latencies and runs very well on nForce2 motherboards. PLUR CK
