jpeg
Dear Technical support, I have just purchased the Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe nForce2 Ultra 400 motherboard (still boxed) I am teaming it up with AMD Athlon Barton Xp2800+ 333 FSB. I chose the board not only for it's name but for it's future upgrade-ability after all it has support for 400 FSB. My question (at last) I intend to (when the price of the Barton 3200+ 400FSB falls) is to replace the 2800+333 FSB. In my opinion there is only one memory that you would marry this fine board up to that must be CORSAIR. If I purchase the Corsair Twinx 1GB DDR 400 Pc 3200 Memory (which is suited to board but not the FSB of the CPU) to save a future upgrade can I adjust it in the BIOS to run in sync with the CPU at 333FSB, or do I need to purchase 1GB DDR333 Pc 2700 to be more compatible. OEX
run twinx 1024 pc3200llpt in sync. it will run at same timings and pc2700llpt. i think its 5232. when you upgrade chips run in sync again and use tagged speed on chip. . whynot just buy the xp3000 w/400fsb? skip the future effort
CMC_SAVAGE
Go with the TWINX1024-3200LLL's. This is the be RAM for this board. Just bump the FSB of the 2800 to 400. There really is no need to buy a 3200.
OEX
[i havent seen a 2800 make it to 400fsb with native muliplier. mine made it to 181 VERY stable. but the 1024 pc3200ll is the same as llpt. one has black speader the pt is platinum. seems as the multipliers are now coming locked so the best bet is to get a 2500 and set fsb to 200.
