Hi guys i am totally new on this forum since i have a problem i decide to join this community.

Before few days i buy new graphic card and since i play cod4 i felt some lag not constant just form time to time. I had PSU 550W some name nothing famous , it was doing good job.. but some guys told me is PSU i must buy better and lag will be gone.. Ok

So i purchased corsair PSU 550w. indeed lag in game has gone but now my computer reporting voltage +3.70v instead of 3.3v. Also suddenly comp just shutdown! i never had problem with that. i think is faulty PSU also i have 3 pictures which i think is weird like wire is missing on my new corsair PSU. check this out.

p.s. i put my old PSU back and computer working just fine no shutdowns nothing.... So it means is PSU 100% but what it is. is it that my asus mainboard dont like that 3.7v or just that PSU is broken?

Please help

Welcome to one of the best internet support forums. :hihi:

Unless you were receiving nvidia sentinel messages I don't see how a psu is going to cause lag.

What are you using to measure the voltage? You cannot rely on software voltage readings or the bios. You should use a DMM to test the rails. Can you try the psu in another pc?

The missing wire is the -5v and was removed from the ATX spec years ago. It was mainly used for legacy devices and onboard amplified audio.

thank you for your welcome ! :)

i used bios as measurement of my voltage i don't have any equipment at all.

I think i "solved" a problem ! Corsair PSU is just fine.

Is asus mainboard that have problems with 4 sticks of corsair ram. now is only 2 and everything is just fine!

i hope new stable bios for that board will come out!

Also thank you for explanation for missing wire i was very confused!! thanks a

loot.

But can you tell me about fact that +3.3 is higher then normal?

cheers

wow one more hit. i set voltage of my ram manually to factory default and that was it. is working!!! all 4 moduls. is look like asus is giving it less juice because of the heat on chipset but doing it manually is set board on "fire" :) i mean is fast ;)

Thanks man
