1 stick will not POST

Dr. RAM GUY!

I just purchased my second set (matched pair, kit, whatever you call it) of Corsair RAM. My first was 2 CM2X1024-6400 (which I love). My new set is 2 CM2C2048-6400C5DHX ... I believe the PN is TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX.

I have an Asus P5W DH Deluxe with the latest BIOS(2602).

On to the questions:

1. I installed the memory today and and the system will not POST with one of sticks installed. I have removed all other RAM and left this one stick in there solo and it will not POST no matter what slot it is in. However, the other stick works fine. Should I RMA this set?

2. My plan was to install all of this RAM at the same time and run with 6GB. Researching issue #1 today has made me weary of doing this. Basically from what I've read it is not recommended. From a maximum performance standpoint, what do you suggest? Is there a way I can over/under clock a set to make everything run happily together?

Thanks for taking the time to answer my post.
