So the Corsair XMS2 DHX 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop

TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX

is compatible with this DFI LT X38 TR2 motherboard?

The memory will oc fine on this board with a GeForce 8800 GT (XFX brand)

I want to be sure before buying additional memory sticks.

Appreciate any other owners response on this. Thinking about getting 4 sticks

The 2048 sticks of any brand are not great overclockers. I have found 2 X 2048 8500C5 of three different manufacturers have not made much more than 1100Mhz. If you are looking to overclock the CPU and get ~1100Mhz or so, then you would do well with 8500C5's. If you wish to overclock the CPU and get 800 - 900Mhz or so, then the 6400C4's would do. If you wish to overclock the CPU and get ~800Mhz or so, then 6400C5's would do.

Now overclocking is a YRMV thing, and doubly so with the high density 2048 sticks. So you may get less or more than the above.

That's a good board and should do well with any of the above. Do not expect to get the overclocks from 2GB sticks as you did with 1GB sticks. It's just not there.

Also, keep in mind, if you populate all four DRAM banks in the future, your overclock will be even more marginalized.
