Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 23, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 23, 2008 Does the PSU fan spin up at all? If so, does it stay on or shut itself off? Was there any smoke or odd smells when you powered it on? Does anything happen when you try to power on the system now?
Paul.UK
no i get nothing at all , when i switched the pc on yesterday i dont think any fans etc had time to spin up ,i basically pushed the switch in and i lost all the power in the house, i didnt get no smells no bangs i might of heard a slight click and that was that ,im quite lucky i have a decent wireng system in the house or it might of went bang. do you have any ideas on anything to try to see if it might not be the psu ? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 25, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 25, 2008 You can try the test outlined here to see if the PSU has basic functionality. If the fan starts to spin when doing this test, then you may want to test the PSU in a different system, or test a different PSU in your own system, to see if you can isolate the issue. If the PSU does not spin at all, or you determine that it is defective then let's get it replaced. Please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it.
