There are no guarantees when mixing and matching modules together. Similar modules may or may not function properly in a particular system. To guarantee the best chances of compatibility you would want to use identical modules throughout the system.

Okay - I got the CM2x2048-6400c5 for my P5wd - priemium - and guess I should have read the info better - they don't work - arrrgh - I have one mached to the TWIN 512's running stable with 3 gigs -- if I have to switch MB I will - any suggestions what is best ASUS board? I kind-of like the P5K Premium but any high quality board will do - I have tried to search for tested boards withing Corsair site - really did not find anything - I just would like to be assured that my new memory will work full and reliably - Intel 775 w/p4 3.0 - Any assistance is appreciated - regrards Leon

With a P4 I would stay with your current motherboard. Keep in mind that >3GB on a 32bit Operating system is not supported via memory and very likely will not allow you >3GB anyway. You would need to move to a 64bit Operating System to access and address the full 4GB. 3GB and that board is fine. Your CPU might well not work well with a P5K and certainly the DRAM running so fast in comparison to the slow CPU is not going to gain you any benefit.

My advice? Keep the 3.0Ghz Pentium4, 3GB of DRAM and move to a new board when you decide to move to a new CPU (Core2 Technology).
