saint-francis
I have been using this power supply for about 15 months and recently I have noticed that it is making a squealing noise under load and if I raise my vcore over 1.45 the system immediately fails under load. I replaced my mother board, RAM and CPU and the problem persists. It only seems logical to me that the PSU is on it's way out. The noise has been getting louder (although it still isn't too bad) and the voltage where the system fails is getting lower. Is there a way to verify that the issue is or is not related to the PSU short of purchasing a new one to compare?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 21, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 21, 2008 Other than testing the unit in a different system there may not be an easy way to know for sure. If you would like to try getting it replaced, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it.
saint-francis
If it is dying getting it replaced would be nice but there are two catches to that idea. One is that I'm sure it will be difficult to determine if it is indeed bad, and two, I can't really be without a PSU for the time it takes to RMA something. Before I even think about RMA would it be possible for me to put down a deposit on a new unit and have one sent to me before I return mine (if it is indeed found to be faulty)?
